Nokia 7900 Prism Mobile Phone Review

The brand new Nokia 7900 Prism has Nokia's revolutionary new prism design with triangular buttons designed for easier SMS and a very different look from the traditionally conservative Nokia.

This phone boasts some brand new technology including an Organic LED display, one of the first of its kind that can give you up to 16 million colours. And it features a "live" wallpaper, meaning that your phone will always look cool as it changes depending on the time of day, power left in the battery and even your mood! The Prism has a gallery of 49 different illumination colours that you can chop and change depending on how you're feeling - if you can be bothered to scroll through them all that is.

This revolutionary phone also has an anodised aluminium back cover that is coin stamped and laser etched in the Prism's signature diamond cut design. Giving the phone that extra bit of protection from those accidental drops we're all guilty of.

It's a big step forward for Nokia who have almost always been the safe, conservative and reliable alternative. Does this mean that they are moving into a market of cutting-edge design and not just the latest and best technology that they have almost always been pioneers of? Should the companies who have consistently gone for look over usability be worried? Well this is a great new phone, the keypad looks a bit odd but when you get use to the look of it you begin to realise that it's quite easy to use.

The 2-megapixel camera with flash, whilst not the best you can get these days, does look great on the phone, especially with the LED display. And is helped with the 1GB of memory so you can store all the photos, videos and content you can get.

One of the great features of this phone, and a feature that is fast becoming a standard, is that it can be linked with your computer so that you can put all your photos from your phone to your computer and also put music in the MP3 player that comes with it. The down-side is that you can't use any of the music as your ring tone because it can only take polyphonic tones.

The Nokia 7900 Prism is a good phone and an interesting new space for Nokia. They have kept their traditional ways yet made this phone more cutting edge creatively. Although it has most of the latest technology, not having true tones as a standard these days is a real let down.
