HTC Touch Cruise Mobile Phone Review
Presenting the latest in Pocket PC's and I really mean the latest. The HTC Touch Cruise is a combination of a touch screen mobile phone and a personal computer complete with many of the essentials it takes to run your life from your pocket.
There is plenty to like about this phone and not a lot that you can fault in its design and features, complete with most Microsoft technology, a great handset and a 3 Mega Pixel camera, this phone really is a very impressive touch phone for the Australian market.
The sound quality on this phone is fantastic, the speakerphone is very clear and handy, the only downside that when you answer the phone you have to unlock the keypad before turning it on. There is a very clear, quality sound you get from this phone, which to me is very important because the first thing the Touch Cruise needs to be is a phone.
One of the hardest things touch phones have found to nail is the touch technology itself. I won't say this phone is perfect but it has gone in the right direction for a touch screen phone. With touch screen the latest "must have" for all Australians there have been quite a few that have lacked when it came to dialling numbers or typing emails/text messages. This phone is quite easy to work and is a pleasant improvement in the market.
The major flaw in this phone is the "daylight" display, when attempting to unlock or even just dial a phone number it can be quite a task to see what you are doing when you are standing outside. If this is the biggest flaw in this phone then there must be plenty to like about the phone, and there is.
Some of the applications on this phone include Adobe Reader, msn Messenger, Windows Media Player, Internet Explorer and Opera, too name a few. Saving contacts to this phone is relatively easy, it is easy to synch this phone with your Outlook. The greatest feature is the GPS that comes with the phone. For any sales people out there this phone could be a very big help, considering how much time you spend out of the office, on the phone and on the road. Not only does the GPS come with the phone, additionally the phone comes with a bracket so you can lodge the phone onto your windscreen.
The camera on this is pretty good. 3 Mega Pixels, whilst not top of the range, is a good start for HTC. The quality of the images is great and it is easy to post any images on your Facebook using the USB that comes with the box of goodies the Touch Cruise comes in.
Overall the HTC Touch Cruise is a welcome newcomer to the Pocket PC market. This is not just a great mobile phone but also a great mobile tool – it can do nearly everything you need when standing still or on the go. Whilst this phone will be marketed to the businessman don't skip it when perusing the phone aisles because you may well have met your perfect match.
