Registering and Disabling Accounts

What do I need to do to get Mobux?

All you need is a mobile phone with the right technology. Unfortunately, not every handset is Mobux compatible, so check out our list of supported phones in the SUPPORT SECTION to make sure your mobile phone can jump through all the right hoops. If your phone isn't Mobux-compatible, check back with us soon because we are always up to date.

To order from Mobux you'll also need to have a data plan with your mobile service provider.

How do I register?

Registering is easy and it only takes a few minutes. At the top of this page, click "Login/Register." This takes you to the registration page where you enter the required information and read the terms and conditions.

After entering your information, click "submit" and Mobux will immediately send an email to the email address provided during registration, as well, an SMS with an activation code automatically sent to the mobile number also provided during registration.

To activate your account, click the link on the registration email you receive from Mobux in your inbox. Once you have clicked the link, you must enter the SMS activation code. Upon doing so, your account will be activated.

I didn’t get my SMS & Activation code, what do I do?

Just check your mobile has reception or you may not receive the code. The code should arrive on your mobile within a minute but may take longer.

How do I disable my Mobux account?

If you no longer wish to use Mobux send an email to disable_me@mobux.com.au. Include your mobile number and password so that we may disable you properly. We also appreciate you telling us why you have decided to terminate your account.

My account is disabled what do I do?

If this happens just send us an email to I have an email saying my account has been disabled?

If this happens to you the easiest way to get over it is to reply to the email and we can reactivate the account.

Help with Password

What do I do if I forgot my password?

Click on "Forgot p-word" link on the top right of the page.

  • Enter the email address registered to your account
  • Mobux will send you an email with a temporary new password so you can log-in
Mobux will send a text message with your new password to your mobile phone. You can log in and change your password to whatever you want.

What payment options do I have?

What payment options do I have? Pay with Visa or MasterCard debit and credit cards:

Visa and MasterCard cards. Mobux supports Verified by Visa customers or MasterCard secure customers. Mobux uses the Verisign/Paypal payment gateway to provide secure payments.

How often will I receive messages?

You will never receive any billing messages from Mobux as you only pay for what you select. Mobux will send an email to your registered email address with your account information for time to time. If you have opted in to receive marketing info from Mobux or any deals from our partners you will receive these from time to time.

What happens if I run out of credit and want to buy more?

Once you have exhausted the credits in your monthly subscription plan, you won't be able to purchase any more items with that plan until you get another mobile recharge – get it at mobux.com.au

PayPal eCheque

PayPal just had a review of their site and the payment process. You now have to add money from your bank account into your PayPal account. To do this I am giving you the link to the PayPal site which tells you how this is done.

How do I use my Points?

To use your recharge discount just login to your Mobux account.

Then:

  1. Select “MY ACCOUNT”
  2. Then “Rewards & Freebies” link
  3. Then select your freebie and click “GET IT”

How do I claim my Points?

When you log into your account you can click on your Points which takes you to what you can receive for a certain amount of points, or alternatively what you have received. From here it is similar to the buying process to claim your reward.

How do Mobux points work?

How long does it take to receive my purchase?

Mobux will deliver your new item almost immediately. However, depending on network availability, this process can sometimes take several minutes. But please don't click the final purchase button again as it could result in multiple charges to your mobile phone bill. If you don't receive your confirmation text message, contact us and we'll help you out. Also, check with your mobile service provider to make sure that a data plan is included in your service plan.

The easiest way to find an item at Mobux is by typing what you are looking for in the search box at the top right of any pages at Mobux. Can I preview tones and mobile art before buying?

Of course! In fact, we encourage it. All of our content can be previewed before you buy -- simply click on the "Preview" icon next to the item.

What if the preview does not work?

It could take 5-10 seconds for the preview to play. If you select the “get it now” option you can then listen to previews on a better player with buttons, try this. Don’t worry you don’t get charged.

Here's how it works. We send a text message to your mobile phone containing a link and simple instructions on how to download your new item to your phone.

Is my mobile phone compatible with real tone tones, voice tones and fun tones?

Good question! Most newer mobile phone models are compatible with real, rude and fun Tones. Older phone models can also download Tones, but usually only poly or monophonic Tones. Before we confirm your mobux Tone purchase, we make sure that you can get the tone that you want to groove to. Another option is to look in your phone's User Manual.

Why can't I download my content download when I click on the link?

  • I have no credit, can I still download from Mobux?

    You need to have credit to access your Internet on your phone, you can just top up on the mobux site to then receive your points and collect your download.

    I can’t find content ordered on my phone. Where is it?

    Check your mobile phone manufacturer's documentation for instructions on where to find files you've downloaded.

    I haven't received my download. What's going on?

    Time to get technical. For Vodafone, Telstra, Optus, Virgin make sure that WAP Push is enabled on your mobile phone. Depending on your phone model, it may be necessary to set the WAP Push setting to "On," "Allow All," "Always," or "Receive All." Find your phone model below and follow the directions.

    Nokia: Services > Settings > Service Inbox settings > Messaging > Settings > Service Msg.

    Motorola: Messages > Browser Msgs > Menu Button > Browser Msg Setup - Messages > Browser Messages > Browser Msg Setup

    My mobile phone says that the link has arrived, but I can't find it

    The download link for your purchase is located in the body of the text message that mobux sent you. Depending on your phone model, this message can sometimes appear in your text or WAP Push inbox. On some phones, this is also known as a "Service Inbox," "Funbox," "Browser Message Inbox" or "Push Inbox."

    The item I received is not the one I purchased. What should I do?

    Just use the contact us link here – Contact Us – make sure you provide an explanation of what happened. Make sure to tell us the title of the Tone, Mobile Art, or game that you tried to purchase, along with the title of the one you received so we can fix the problem as fast as possible.

    How will I know if my mobile is supported?

    We'll check for you. After you click "Get It," we ask you for your mobile phone make and model. This lets us know if your mobile phone can receive the item you want to buy. Another way to check is via the "Browse by Phone" option at the top of the mobux homepage.

    The content I ordered is low quality. What's the deal?

    We hope this never happens, but if it does please send us an email here that includes your mobile phone number, handset model, mobile phone service provider and an explanation of what's going on. We'll figure it out and make sure it doesn't happen again.

    Although you can't transfer your Tones, Mobile Art and games from your old mobile phone to a new one, the good news is that now you've got the chance to create a whole new personality. How often does that happen? Exactly. You can thank us later.

    How much content can I download onto my mobile phone?

    Storage capability differs from mobile phone to phone. Consult your phone's User Manual for information on its storage capacity. If your phone is at capacity when you download an item from mobux, you will be notified that your phone is full and you will have to delete an old item to make room for a new one.

    How do I delete content from my phone?

    Even the coolest Tones and Mobile Art will be so "last year" eventually (like, next year.) You'll want a clean slate so you can be so "this year" (until next year, when you'll be so "last year" again. Whatever.) The point is, every mobile phone is different so your best bet is to refer to your handset's User Manual when deleting content.

    What is Mobile Art?

    Mobile Art is a decorative "Mobile Art" image for your mobile phone screen. You can change your phone's settings so that different Mobile Art corresponds to different callers. Own your phone by personalizing with Mobile Art that makes a statement about you.

    What is a Tone?

    A Tone is a tone (music or saying or sound) that plays on your mobile phone when you receive a call. Tones are a fun way to add personality to your mobile phone, and allow you to customize your ring Tones so that you know who's calling. Which is handy when you're expecting a call from your bud, and your boss calls instead. Or your mother.

    What is the difference between a Mobile Art and a Screensaver?

    A Mobile Art is often called a Mobile Art. It's a static, non-moving image that you can decorate the background of your phone with. A screensaver is an animated image that appears on your phone's screen when the phone goes to 'sleep.' No, not when you go to sleep.

    What's the difference between a real tone and a poly tone?

    A real tone is an actual brief sampling of a song. A poly tone is a simple synthesizer version of a song. No matter which type of Tone you want for your mobile phone, you can preview and purchase them at Mobux!

    What's the difference between a voice tone and a fun tone?

    Voice Tones are audio clips of people talking and Fun Tones are, well, funny sound effects. Instead of using music as your Tone, you can have a famous voice or cool sound like a revving engine.

    What is a Game?

    Most Mobux games are a mobile phone version of your favorite console and computer games. However, some of our games are designed especially for the mobile phone.

Technical Questions

What is a data plan and why do I need one?

A data plan gives you the ability to access Internet content from your mobile device. Mobile Arts are delivered to you via WAP messages, which require Internet access on your phone. Each carrier has a different brand name for their Internet data products. For example, Vodafone refers to their data product as Live! and Optus refers to their data product as Optus Zoo.

Do I need to have text messaging enabled?

You must have text messaging enabled on your mobile phone. If your mobile service plan doesn't include text messaging, please contact your mobile service provider and enable it.

Sure we are really interested in looking at some of your art for the mobile art gallery.

Could you please email me at newart@mobux.com.au, up to five images (800 x 800) in JPG format and a short bio of up to 100 words so we can learn a bit more about you and your work.

We do receive a lot of these requests so it may take a few weeks to get back to you however we will do so.
